5 great reasons to attend the October 22 game

So we’re here already. This Sunday, October 22, our Alouettes will be playing their final home game of the season. Wanting to finish the season off in style, we’ve put together a great afternoon for you… even Mother Nature got to work!

Here’s why coming to this week’s game should be at the top of your list of things to do this Sunday afternoon.

1.Plenty of Vitamin D

20 degrees, bright sunshine… on October 22! You won’t want to be spending the afternoon indoors making spaghetti sauce! Come on out and get crazy one last time this season at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium and enjoy the pure clean air right beside the mountain. We’ll be looking forward to seeing you starting at 11:00 a.m. when the tailgate begins – you can enjoy meals prepared by the Das Food Truck or maybe you’d prefer grilling some of your own bacon!

2.Honoring the 1977 Grey Cup champs

It’s been 40 years since our Alouettes won their fourth Grey Cup on a frozen Olympic Stadium turf. Members of that team including Peter Dalla Riva, Larry Smith, Sonny Wade, Ian Mofford and many others will be honored during what promises to be both the biggest and the most nostalgic halftime of the season. An event not to be missed!

3.Bourke and Perrett officially hang up their cleats

Sunday will also mark the end of the careers of both Jeff Perrett and Josh Bourke. These two giants wore the Alouettes uniform for 11 and 9 seasons respectively, and they will officially retire this weekend in front of the fans who have held them so close to their hearts. Come and celebrate the accomplishments of two of the most popular offensive linemen in team history!

4.Free tuques

O.K. We started by boasting about the fabulous weather and now we’re talking about tuques… But let’s not kid ourselves, winter is fast approaching! Be among the first 6,000 fans through the stadium gates and receive a superb Alouettes tuque, compliments of our wonderful partner, BMO.

5.No pressure. Just a whole lotta fun.

After the loss in the team’s last game on October 9, the pressure of trying to get into the playoffs is no more. Our guys, who will be taking on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for the first time this season, are playing… for the pure fun of playing! And that’s what we want you to have as well: fun, whether it’s with friends or family! And we guarantee that the photos you take of you and your youngsters at the stadium will make for better memories than those taken at an apple orchard!
