The Montreal Alouettes announced on Monday that the club has acquired national defensive back Tevaughn Campbell as well as the Saskatchewan Roughriders‘ third round picks in 2018 and 2019, in exchange for quarterback Vernon Adams Jr and the Alouettes fifth round pick in 2018.
Campbell (6’0”, 195 lbs.), who was selected in the third round (22nd overall) by the Calgary Stampeders in 2015, played 22 games in the CFL with Calgary and Saskatchewan. He amassed 19 defensive tackles, adding four on special teams. The 24-year-old athlete also knockdown seven passes and recovered two fumbles, including one he returned for a touchdown.

The Scarborough, ON native played with the University of Regina Rams, where he collected 51 tackles in 20 games, adding 440 yards on 42 punt returns and 423 yards on 20 kickoff returns.
Adams Jr. played 22 games with the Alouettes, including three starts, completing 42 of 75 passes for 575 yards and four touchdowns. The 24-year-old quarterback added 120 rushing yards on 36 carries, including two touchdowns.
