Kevin Glenn talks about training camp and the upcoming season

Kevin Glenn and his teammates are preparing for their second and final pre-season game against the Toronto Argonauts, on June 17th at McGill’s stadium.

According to Kevin Glenn, the first half of training camp went quite well. “Training camp has gone well for me. We’re finishing up watching film from the Winnipeg game, and the corrections and comments from our coaching staff will help us progress in our learning curve with the new playbook.”

Glenn feels that the players reporting to training camp are well-prepared in their quest to get a spot on the team. “We can really see the progress being made by players who were at mini-camp in mid-April, and who are presently at training camp.” said the 37-year old quarterback.

A competitive spirit can be felt at training camp. “Even though the players were happy to be at training camp and to be playing football, they were here with one goal in mind and that is to have a spot on the Alouettes’ roster when the 2016 season begins. The offense was also really excited to start the season as we were getting a little tired of playing against the same defensive units over and over again at camp,” said the Alouettes’ veteran.

During the last week of training camp, the players, including Kevin Glenn, are excited for the season to get started. “Speaking for myself, I am really excited for the season to begin. For the rookies, there is some nervousness as it is their first season in the CFL. I’m looking forward to playing regular season games, as well as the preparation involved the week prior to the game in order to counterattack our opponents’ strategies,” explained Glenn.

According to Glenn, the team’s other quarterbacks performed very well during training camp. “They did good work. They weren’t afraid to ask a lot of questions to both myself and the coaching staff. They also listened very well to the advice and adjustments they were given in order to improve,” Glenn said.
