MONTREAL – Montreal Alouettes players Luc Brodeur-Jourdain, Martin Bédard, and Michael Carter, accompanied by team mascot Touché, visited Sainte-Justine hospital today as part of the Alouettes’ Touch the Hearts tour, powered by TELUS.

Indeed, the Alouettes and TELUS continued their annual tradition of bringing smiles to over 60 children with activities that included storytelling and coloring. Players spent part of the afternoon taking the time to talk, take photos and sign autographs for the children while creating lasting memories for everyone involved. To highlight their visit, the Alouettes distributed gift bags filled with surprises which featuring TELUS celebrity animals.

“They’re an inspiration to all of us,” said centre Brodeur-Jourdain. “Just to be able to come see them smile and to interact with them is truly an amazing feeling. They are brave and we need to continue to support all kids in need.”

The hospital visit was made possible through the support of TELUS. Kasra Moozar, Vice-President, Sales and Business Development, took the opportunity to donate $5,000 on behalf of the organization.

“TELUS is proud to support Sainte-Justine’s UHC Foundation and contribute to the well-being of sick children,” said Mr. Moozar.

The Foundation’s mission is to engage the community and support the Sainte-Justine UHC in its pursuit of excellence and commitment to providing the children and mothers-to-be of today and tomorrow with one of the highest levels of healthcare in the world.

This was the last of three scheduled hospital visits of the 2012 season as Alouettes players also took the time to meet children at the CHUQ in Quebec City on Tuesday, May 1 and at the Children’s Hospital on Thursday, May 3.

TELUS and the Montreal Alouettes have been teaming up for over a decade. TELUS’ participation is consistent with its current strategy to contribute to the development of health care throughout Quebec, by supporting research for new treatments or by providing access to innovative health care technology.
