Montreal – With the majority of their starters watching from the cold sidelines of Montreal’s Percival Molson Stadium, the Alouettes failed to reach the end zone, losing their final game of the 2010 season, 30-4 to the Toronto Argonauts.

Adrian McPherson played the entire game at quarterback for the Alouettes, who were resting a large number of their starters for the East Final on Nov. 21 at Olympic Stadium, and it certainly showed on the scoreboard.

Anthony Calvillo, Ben Cahoon, Larry Taylor, Kerry Watkins, Avon Cobourne, Diamond Ferri, Matthieu Proulx, Jamel Richardson and Jeff Robertshaw were all left aside for Sunday evening’s game against the Argos.

It was the third time this season the Als were held without a touchdown.

Game Story
Without Calvillo, the Als had trouble moving the ball forward, mustering just 257 yards offensively, their lowest total of the season. McPherson finished the game with 137 passing yards and no touchdown, completing just 47 per cent of his passes.

Toronto pivot Cleo Lemon played under a half of football, attempting just six passes in the process, one of which was completed to rookie receiver Spencer Watt for a 50-yard touchdown to open the scoring.

After a Damon Duval field goal brought Toronto’s lead down to four, running back Dwayne Wright scored the Argos’ second touchdown of the game to extend their lead to 11.

The Argos never looked back, scoring 16 more unanswered points to close out their season on a high-note.  Toronto will travel to Hamilton to take on the Tiger-Cats next week in the East Division Semi-Final, the winner of which will play at Olympic Stadium against the Als in the East Final.

Defensive end Jarriett Buie had a solid debut for the Als. The newcomer had an interception in the first half and a forced fumble in the second to go along with his lone defensive tackle.

On the radar
The Als will get a week off to rest up and get healthy in time for the East Final. Over 40,000 tickets have been sold; however, tickets still remain in limited quantities on all levels.

The Alouettes will host either the Hamilton Tiger-Cats or the Toronto Argonaut son Nov. 21 at Olympic Stadium at 1 p.m. (RDSHD, TSNHD, NRJ, CJAD)
