Montreal, Apr. 2, 2009 – Montreal Alouettes Head Coach Marc Trestman is pleased to introduce his 2009 coaching staff:

“I am proud of the team we have put together,” said Marc Trestman, who will be in his second season in Montreal this year. “I would like to thank the three coaches who have left us for their great contribution to this organization – Vince Martino, Jaime Elizondo and Casey Creehan are remarkable people, and we wish them the best in their respective careers.”

Three new coaches will now join the team.

Tim Tibesar will coach linebackers, Jonathan Himebauch will coach the offensive line, and former quarterback Marcus Brady has retired and becomes the team’s receivers’ coach.

Tibesar spent the last three seasons with the Kansas State Wildcats, including the last two as Defensive Coordinator. He previously held the same responsibilities with his alma mater, North Dakota, where his unit was one of the best in all of NCAA Division II football. He holds a Master’s degree in business administration-management (Cum Laude) from San Diego State University as well as a Bachelor of business administration in business economics (Summa Cum Laude) from North Dakota.

Himebauch, a University of Southern California graduate with a Masters in education is a former offensive lineman and long snapper who played in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts, in the NFL with Arizona and Kansas City, in the NFLE with Rhein, and in the XFL with Los Angeles. He began his professional coaching career with the Calgary Stampeders in 2003 where he was the offensive line coach. He became San Diego State’s offensive line coach in 2006 after being the head coach at Harvard-West Lake High School in Los Angeles. Himebauch also has coached at the University of Nevada (Las Vegas) and Santa Barbara College.

Brady retires after seven CFL seasons, including the last three with the Alouettes. Serving mainly as a backup quarterback over 107 career games, he started 11 times and completed 246 of 469 passes for 3,321 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 122 times for 679 yards and six touchdowns. He began his career with the Argonauts in 2002 before moving on to the Tiger-Cats in 2004, finally joining the Alouettes in 2006.

As for the rest of the staff, Scott Milanovich returns as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, with additional duties as Assistant Head Coach. Tim Burke will continue at defensive coordinator and Scott Squires remains the special teams coordinator. Andy Bischoff will continue coaching the running backs, with additional duties as the assistant offensive line coach with Himebauch.
