A New Offensive Coach

Montréal, MontrealAlouettes.com – Montreal Alouettes’ Vice President, General Manager and Head Coach Jim Popp announced today that Charlie Carpenter has been named the Alouettes’ offensive line coach, replacing Steve McAdoo who earlier resigned.

Carpenter is an eight-year veteran coach in the CFL. He started in a similar role with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1992 and 1993 before going to the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1994 and the Baltimore Stallions in 1995. He helped the Toronto Argonauts win the Grey Cup in 1996 and returned last year to coach their offensive line. He was the B.C. Lions’ offensive coordinator in 1997 and 1998.

Carpenter has also coached at the American college level.
