John Grace Back In Montreal

Montreal – MontrealAlouettes.com – Montreal Alouettes’ Vice President, General Manager and Head Coach Jim Popp announced today that 2005 CFL Most Outstanding Defensive Player John Grace will be back in Montreal as he signed a one-year contract plus an option.

Grace started his career with the Alouettes in 2000. He played only five games in two seasons before being picked up by the Ottawa Renegades in the expansion draft. His career took off in 2002 in Ottawa, as he made 140 defensive tackles and 17 special teams tackles in his two years in the capital city.

In January 2004, he was traded to the Calgary Stampeders where he had his best two years as a pro. He was named West Division Most Outstanding Defensive Player in both 2004 and 2005 and earned the CFL Most Outstanding Defensive Player award in 2005.

Grace celebrates his 30th birthday today.
