Senior Defensive Assistant

2017 – Greg Quick will be in his third season with the Alouettes, after returning to the organization as the Linebackers Coach last season, when he saw his protégé Bear Woods lead the squad with 126 defensive tackles, good for second in the CFL, which also allowed him to establish a new team record.

He returned to Montreal following a stint as the Saskatchewan Roughriders Defensive Coordinator in 2015. There he mentored rookie linebacker Jeff Knox, Jr. who got the nod as the team’s most outstanding player, rookie and defensive player following a season where he collected a team-high 114 defensive tackles, second best in the CFL.

Quick first joined the Alouettes for the 2014 campaign, as the Linebackers Coach, bringing to the table more than 30 years of coaching experience in football. That year, he saw his protégé Bear Woods amass an impressive total of 89 defensive tackles, including seven sacks, in only 12 games, which resulted in him being the finalist for the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player, as well as being selected as a CFL All-Star.

Quick made his debut as a CFL coach with the Toronto Argonauts, as the club’s Linebacker Coach, in 2010-2011.

Quick’s diverse coaching career dates back to 1979 with experience at every level including high school, university and professional football. His resume includes stints as Defensive Coordinator, Offensive Coordinator and 15 years as Head Coach.

He and his wife, Jeannie, are proud parents of six children and one granddaughter, Lily, as well as grandson Bill.
