American receiver Vinny Papale is added to the roster

The Montreal Alouettes announced on Monday that the club has signed American receiver Vinny Papale to a two-year deal.

Papale (6’1″, 205 lbs.) played in 34 games over four seasons with the University of Delaware Blue Hens. Last fall, the Cherry Hill, NJ native made his biggest contributions on offence, scoring six touchdowns in 12 games, on top of hauling in 36 passes for 618 yards. He had his best outing on October 27 when he amassed 142 yards on eight catches, on top of scoring two majors. The versatile 23-year-old receiver also returned four kickoffs for 85 yards as well as 16 punts for 61 yards.

Prior to joining the Blue Hens, he represented the United States in the 2014 International Bowl in Texas, facing off twice against Canada. His father Vince played three seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles between 1976 and 1978. His story inspired the Disney Motion Picture Invicible, which came out in 2006.
