Alouettes President and CEO Mark Weightman promised that the organization will be more fan-oriented than ever in 2014, after surveying, exchanging with, and listening to its loyal supporters during this past off-season.

Quarterback Troy Smith and coach André Bolduc were also on-hand to address the fans, offering a sneak peek at what to expect on the field in 2014.

Here’s what fans can expect in 2014:

AN ENHANCED FAN EXPERIENCE

• Fans can expect even more detailed service during this upcoming season. Thanks to a new partnership deal with Admission, season ticket holders can now transfer their tickets via email.

• The free STM shuttle will be taking a new route, making getting to the stadium easier than ever for fans while remaining the most eco-friendly way to get to an Alouettes game.

• With the help of partner Radio Circulation 730 AM, it will now be even easier to find out what the best way to get the stadium is while driving.

• A new parking service will be offered to fans via MaPlace.ca, allowing parking spaces around the stadium to be reserved online in advance.

• Just in time for training camp, the Alouettes will launch version 2.0 of their mobile app, which was a huge success with Alouettes fans last year after its initial launch. Information about accessing the stadium will now just be a click away.

AN UNCOMPARABLE GAME-DAY EXPERIENCE

• In collaboration with Budweiser and le Dindon du Québec, the West End Zone at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium will become a party zone this summer. The area will be transformed into a fan zone, allowing supporters to converge to eat and drink in an electric atmosphere as soon as the doors open. The party will keep going every game day until the last whistle.

• During the summer, all Alouettes home games will be played on Friday nights following feedback from Alouettes fans.

• A variety of new items will be available at concession stands in-stadium this year, including pulled pork sandwiches, an exclusive Alouettes turkey leg recipe, as well new fresh pizzas from Pizza Pizza.

• Thanks to a new partnership with Labatt Breweries, the variety of beers offered to fans at Alouettes games will see a serious upgrade. In addition to being served Budweiser and Bud Light everywhere in the stadium, fans will also have access to Bud Crown, Corona and Stella Artois.

• The Alouettes cheerleaders will have a new look in 2014, wearing new uniforms on the sidelines. Plus, fans won’t want to miss their 2014 calendar, a swimsuit shoot which took place in the Dominican Republic and will be available as of June 5.

• La Station des Sports becomes the official sports bar for Alouettes post-game parties. On their way down from the mountain, all Alouettes fans are invited to join forces at La Station des Sports to take advantage of many specials while celebrating Alouettes victorys.

• One thing won’t change in 2014 however, and that’s the electric atmosphere at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium during Alouettes’ home games.

MANY SPECIAL ACTIVITIES

• On July 11, the Alouettes will be donning their white uniforms at home and all fans are invited to do the same as the team hosts its first-ever white-out.

• For the first time in its history, the Canadian Football Hall of Fame game will be played in Montreal on September 21. The timing couldn’t be better, as former Alouettes Ben Cahoon and Uzooma Okeke will be enshrined on that day, as well as Montrealer and former Alouettes player Wally Buono, who has been selected as a builder.

• On October 13, the Alouettes will honour one of their greatest players in history in Anthony Calvillo, who announced a well-deserved retirement this past winter. No one will want to miss this one.

• The 50th TELUS Vanier Cup game will be played at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium on Saturday, November 29. Alouettes season ticket holders and Montrealers have already confirmed their interest in what will be a must-see football happening.

• This season will also mark the beginning of a new chapter in the Montreal-Ottawa rivalry as the REDBLACKS make their CFL debut this summer.

• La Station des Sports will host viewing parties all season for Alouettes away games.

AN EXCITING SEASON ON THE FIELD

• On the field, new head coach Tom Higgins, who has been named CFL Coach of the year twice, takes the reigns of the team. He’ll have a competitive team at his disposal courtesy of General Manager Jim Popp, the team’s architect since its return in the CFL in 1996.

• Troy Smith finished the season strong as the Alouettes starting quarterback and will pick up where he left off last season to start 2014.

• The Alouettes kept most of their players who were eligible for free agency this past off-season. The stability surrounding the team will be a great asset to the team as it sets its sights on the 102nd Grey Cup.

• Star players Jamel Richardson and Brandon Whitaker are healthy and looking forward to proving to everyone that they are still capable of stellar seasons.

• The Alouettes added star receiver Chad Johnson to their roster. After a glorious 11-season NFL career, he showed during mini-camp that he’s still a very capable receiver and can’t wait to step back onto the field and discover his new adoptive city.

The Alouettes’ new campaign is based around “la Force du nombre”. The organisation is anxious to greet all of its fans, young and old, this upcoming season at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. Let the action begin!
