2009 Grey Cup heading to Calgary

Official release, Montreal – Montreal Alouettes’ President and CEO Larry Smith continues his Grey Cup 2008 tour through Quebec. For the occasion, 300 Grey Cup tickets have been reserved for each region in order to assure that every fan across Quebec will be able to attend the biggest game of Canadian football on Nov. 23.

After visiting Chicoutimi and Rimouski, Larry Smith will be visiting Sherbrooke on Mar. 26, Trois-Rivières on Apr. 2 and Plattsburgh on Apr. 9. Tickets have also been reserved for the regions of Gatineau, Quebec and Ottawa.

The 96th Grey Cup game will be held on Nov. 23, 2008 at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium. The Grey Cup committee is planning a full week of festivities prior to the event and will build a village downtown, like in 2001, to centralize all the action. A total of 65,255 spectators attended the game in 2001 and the committee’s objective is to get over 68,000 fans in the stands.

With tickets starting at $84, this is one of the most affordable major sporting events. Fans must act early in order to avoid disappointments.
