Career

2016: Montreal Alouettes

He suited up for all 18 games last season, recording 21 special teams tackles, good for third place in the CFL and only two tackles behind new teammate Frédéric Plesius.

 

2015: Montreal Alouettes

Boulay played some of his best games against the Ottawa REDBLACKS with 15 total hits (defensive and special teams tackles) in three games against the Nation’s capital team. On October 1st, in Ottawa, he registered seven defensive tackles and added another one on special teams.

 

2014: Montreal Alouettes

He suited up for all 18 regular season games for the Alouettes’ as well as both playoff contests. In his second year in the CFL defending the Alouettes’ colours, the sophomore showed tremendous progress in his game. He recorded 14 special team’s tackles. He was called to replace injured Gabriel Knapton and Aaron Lavarias on October 18 in Toronto, a challenge he met demonstrating his strong versatility.

 

2013: Montreal Alouettes

He suited up for 18 games for the Alouettes and recorded eight special teams tackles in his rookie year in the CFL. He also recovered a fumble in the regular season finale.

 

Personal

Boulay has established himself as an effective and hard-nosed player in the CFL since his debuts with the team in 2013. He was a fourth round (30th total) selection by the Alouettes in the 2013 Canadian CFL draft. He has shown constant progression over the years, fulfilling the many roles he was entrusted by its coaches. He emerged as the leader of the Sherbrooke Vert et Or linebacking corps in 2012, finishing fourth in the Quebec conference and sixth in the country for tackles with 58.5. He spent one season as a redshirt freshman with the Newberry College Wolves in South Carolina prior to joining the Vert et Or. The Magog, QC native is also heavily involved in the Alouettes community initiatives, he who partakes in the Together at School program since day. In collaboration with the Montreal Alouettes and the Fondation Québec Jeunes, Boulay proudly launched the Club 52 in 2015. Through this initiative, Boulay will invite – free of charge – 52 young people to every home game. These youths will be recruited by the Foundation’s partners and come from across the province.
