How many seasons with the Alouettes?
1 (It’s my first season!)
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Montreal and spent 2 years living in the Bahamas with my parents on my father’s side when I was still a baby. We then returned to Canada in Montreal where I grew up for the rest of my childhood and adolescence.
Since what age have you been dancing?
I have been dancing since the age of 3.
What is your dance training?
Since the age of 3, I have had the chance to learn several styles of dance including ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, dancehall, and street jazz. Additionally, for the past 8 years, I have been participating in dance competitions every year. I also took part in the Just for Laughs Gala in 2018 and participated in a show for Alzheimer’s in 2019. I love attending dance conventions and other types of dance training to continue growing as a dancer.
Your profession / field of study?
I am a dance teacher. I teach recreational and competitive levels to all age groups.
What do you do in your free time?
I am a very artistic person, so I enjoy creating artwork, painting, creating sets for my choreographies, and other artistic projects for my friends and family. I also love spending time with my dogs and teaching them new tricks. Finally, I enjoy cleaning and organizing, both at home and at other family members’ homes!
Best advice you’ve received and from whom?
One of the best pieces of advice I received is from my mother, which is no matter what others think of you, stay true to yourself and don’t force yourself to be someone you’re not. It may be a bit cliché, but I sometimes tend to worry too much about my image, so this advice is something I try to remember as often as possible.
What motivated you to audition for the dance team?
I love new challenges, especially those involving my favorite passion, dance. Additionally, since I was a little girl, I have watched the Alouettes on television, and it has always inspired me to try. So when I saw that this year, the team would focus more on dance, I immediately took my chance.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
I am looking forward to performing our brand-new choreographies in front of a large crowd alongside my teammates and creating many beautiful memories.
