Former Alouette Catherine Hickman Raiche Named Grand Ambassador of the Université de Sherbrooke
For its 25th edition, the Gala of Distinction for Graduates of the Université de Sherbrooke highlighted, on April 30, eight individuals whose remarkable careers bring recognition to their alma mater both locally and around the world. Coming from diverse fields—sports, culture, education, business, and health—these individuals embody excellence, commitment, and innovation at the very heart of their professions.
Former Alouette Catherine Raiche, now known as “Hickman,” received the prestigious 2026 “Grand Ambassador” distinction.

She worked with the team from 2015 to 2017, starting as an intern, then as a coordinator, eventually becoming the team’s assistant general manager. Since 2022, she has been assistant general manager and vice president of football operations for the Cleveland Browns in the NFL.
She greatly enjoyed her time with the organization and shared a few memorable stories that brought smiles to everyone. Accompanied by several former Alouettes and yours truly, Catherine delivered a highly inspiring speech as she accepted the evening’s most prestigious honor.

“I am deeply honored to be chosen as Grand Ambassador. I accept it not as a verdict on my career, but as encouragement. It is a reminder that the people and places that shape us, like the Université de Sherbrooke, continue to support and encourage us long after we graduate.”

Clearly uncomfortable with all the attention—though well deserved—the football executive had a strong message for young people trying to break into the sports world: “Be ready to be different, to step off the beaten path, to be comfortable being uncomfortable. Be prepared not to have a perfect answer when someone at an event asks what you do.”
After the dinner and a wonderful ceremony, Catherine took time to chat with young people and some Sherbrooke cheerleaders (Cathreine is also a former cheerleader), encouraging them to push themselves and perhaps inspire other “Catherine Hickman Raiche” in the near future…
