Alouettes sign five players
Montreal, November 21, 2025 – The Montreal Alouettes announced today the signing of five American players through 2027. The team has reached agreements with quarterback E.J. Perry, wide receiver Giles Jackson, offensive lineman R.J. Perry, defensive lineman Westley Neal Jr., and defensive back Terrence Spence.
Perry (6’2”, 210 lb) joined the nest in October 2025 and spent some time on the practice roster. He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022 and spent his rookie season on the practice squad. Perry also played with the Houston Texans the following year before re-joining Jacksonville. The Andover, MS native also played in the UFL.
The 27-year-old played in 20 games over two seasons (2019 and 2021) with the Brown University Bears. He finished his career at Brown second all-time in total offensive yards (7,113) and pass completions (546). He was also third in passing yards (5,981) and touchdowns (45).
Jackson (5’9”, 187 lb) signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in May 2025. He made two catches for nine yards in two preseason games.
Collegiately, Jackson spent two seasons at the University of Michigan (2019-20) and made 24 catches for 309 yards, one touchdown, while having 12 carries for 74 yards. He added one rushing touchdown. In 37 kick returns, the 23-year-old amassed 976 yards and two touchdowns. On five punt returns the native of Antioch, CA collected 45 yards in 18 games. He was named Second Team All-Big Ten in 2020.
He transferred to the University of Washington (2021-24) and earned 135 catches for 1,414 yards and nine touchdowns. He ran 21 times for 109 yards, and one rushing touchdown. On 34 kick returns, he earned 754 yards and had 136 yards on 20 punt returns in 38 games for the Huskies.
Perry (6’6”, 330 lb) attended the New York Giants rookie minicamp in 2025.
Collegiately, Perry played three seasons at Tennessee University (2020-22), starting as a defensive lineman before switching to offense. He played left tackle in 13 games for the Vols. In 2022, Tennessee averaged 46.08 points per game, 199.5 rushing yards per game, 326.1 passing yards per game. His team beat Clemson in the Orange Bowl.
Then, he transferred to the University of South Florida (2023-24) playing right tackle, left tackle, and right guard in 23 games for the Bulls. In 2024, South Florida averaged 32.15 points per game, 180.8 rushing yards per game, 227.46 passing yards per game.
Neal Jr. (6’0”, 315 lb) played four seasons at Rhode Island University (2021-24) making 121 tackles (66 solos, 55 assists), 19.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, one interception, two pass breakups, and three blocked kicks in 42 games for the Rams. In 2024, the native of Miami, FL made 41 tackles (22 solos, 19 assists), 6.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, one interception, two pass breakups, and one blocked kick in 14 games. He was invited to play in the Hulu Bowl in 2024.
He was named a two-time Third Team All-CAA by Phil Steele (2023-24), Third Team All-CAA in 2023, First Team All-CAA in 2024, and a Team Captain in 2024.
Spence (6’2”, 195 lb) was named a 2024 Football Writers Association of America a Second Team All-American, a College Football Network Third Team All-American in his only season with Dukes. He was tied for the Sun Belt lead and ranking in the top five nationally in interceptions (5).
Spence had one pick-six while also tallying 38 tackles, a half tackle for loss, one forced fumble, seven breakups and a pair of blocked kicks.
He was additionally selected as JMU’s first semifinalist for the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award and was a First Team All-Sun Belt defensive back.
Spence joined JMU after a four-year career at Holy Cross (2020-23), where he was a 2023 Second Team All-Patriot League selection and accrued four interceptions, 18 pass breakups and six blocks.
