5 reasons to come to the game on Saturday, September 6!
First place in the division up for grabs!
Games against Hamilton are always hotly contested. Saturday’s game will be no different, because based on recent results, first place in the East Division is on the line. A win would put the Alouettes on par with the Tiger-Cats, with a record of 6 wins and 6 losses. To break the tie between the two teams, we would then look at the point differential in the two games played between the two teams this year. Last June, Hamilton won 35-17. The Alouettes would therefore need to win by more than 18 points to regain first place. Of course, there will still be many games left to play, but this could have a major impact on the rest of the season.
Returns to the lineup
Let’s face it, our Alouettes have really been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks. Even though this is part of life for professional teams, these numerous injuries ultimately affect the team’s performance. The good news is that some of these players are starting to return to action. This Saturday, receivers Tyson Philpot and Austin Mack, two key players in the Alouettes’ offense, are expected to return to play. The same goes for Sean Thomas Erlington, the running back who missed the last two games due to injury. While waiting for starting quarterback Davis Alexander to return, these additions will be a welcome boost to the team as it enters the final stretch to make the playoffs.
The next generation takes center stage!
This is the Next Generation Game presented by MAXI, and it’s an opportunity to showcase the future of football in Quebec. Before the game, a mini-match will take place on the field with an amateur football team from the Greater Montreal area. At halftime, the mini-dance show will be back, with nearly 150 kids putting on a show in the middle of the field in collaboration with KIA. Finally, two selected kids will lend a hand in organizing this game with a crowd entertainer and a journalist.
