Montreal, December 18, 2023 – The Montreal Alouettes announced Monday that the 2024, 2025 and 2026 training camps will be held in Saint-Jérôme.
The announcement was made at a press conference at the Centre sportif Claude-Beaulieu, attended by Alouettes president and CEO Mark Weightman, general manager Danny Maciocia, Alouettes players Frédéric Chagnon, Marc-Antoine Dequoy, Pier-Olivier Lestage, Louis-Philippe Bourassa, Saint-Jérôme Mayor Marc Bourcier, city councillors, members of the business community, education and sports communities, and young soccer players from Saint-Jérôme.
“It is with indescribable enthusiasm, excitement and pride that we have brought you together around the country’s most popular trophy to announce the realization of a promising project for our entire community. Bringing the Alouettes to Saint-Jérôme not only gives us a unique opportunity to welcome a professional team, but also to offer a wide range of activities for the youth, including conferences in schools hosted by the players. I’d like to thank the Alouettes organization for this wonderful vote of confidence, and I invite everyone to come and experience professional football in the spring of 2024. Alouettes, welcome to your second home! In Saint-Jérôme, we’re proudly football fans,” declared Saint-Jérôme Mayor Marc Bourcier.
“We’re delighted to host our training camp in Saint-Jérôme, next spring. All fans on the North Shore, as well as those in the greater Montreal area, which is only 45 minutes away, will have a front-row seat during practices and the entire training camp,” confirms Alouettes president and CEO Mark Weightman. The city has shown great dynamism and adaptability in welcoming us. Our players and the entire football operations staff are excited for the training camp in this highly professional environment. The top-quality facilities provided by the municipality of Saint-Jérôme will enable our players to prepare in optimal conditions to succeed again this year. We all look forward to meeting our supporters for this important moment of the season.”
The first activation will kick off in March with a family event in Saint-Jérôme.
