Our 6 East Division All Stars

The Canadian Football League announced its 2023 Division All-Stars on Thursday, and receiver Austin Mack, offensive lineman Nick Callender, defensive lineman Mustafa Johnson, linebacker Tyrice Beverette, defensive back Wesley Sutton and safety Marc-Antoine Dequoy, from the Montreal Alouettes were selected to the Eastern squad.

Austin Mack – Wide Receiver (1st selection)
East Division All Star: 2023
In his first year in the CFL, the 26-year-old receiver put together an impressive season. He caught 78 passes for 1,154 yards and crossed the goal line four times. The Ohio State University alumnus gained more than 100 yards in a game five times in 17 games. The Fort Wayne, IN native, finished fifth in the league in receiving yards and ranks fourth in yards after a catch.

Nick Callender – Offensive Line (1st sélection)
East Division All Star: 2023
Callender played in every game this season. He helped his teammate Caleb Evans find the gaps to be among the leaders with eight rushing touchdowns. He allowed quarterback Cody Fajardo to have time to throw the ball so that Austin Mack could be among the top five CFL receivers with 1,154 yards.

Mustafa Johnson– Defensive Line (1st selection)
East Division All Star: 2023
The defensive lineman has been a terror for his opponents for 18 games this season. He amassed 43 defensive tackles, seven sacks and recovered a fumble he turned into a touchdown.

Tyrice Beverette – Linebacker (1st selection)
East Division All Star: 2023
In his second season in the nest, the American linebacker elevated his game. He finished among the league leaders with 89 defensive tackles and 20 on special teams. He totalled an impressive seven sacks. The 28-year-old recovered four fumbles, two of which he returned for majors. He led the CFL in fumble recoveries with four. He also registered four knock downs.

Wesley Sutton – Defensive Back (2nd selection)
East Division All Star: 2022, 2023
In 16 games, Sutton made 54 defensive tackles and one on special teams. The 27-year-old defensive back earned three sacks, forced a fumble and made an interception that he returned for a touchdown.

Marc-Antoine Dequoy – Safety (1st selection)
East Division All Star: 2023
Dequoy finished second in the CFL with five interceptions, including two that he returned for touchdowns. The former Université de Montréal Carabin earned 57 defensive tackles and five more on special teams. His agility allowed him to force three fumbles and he recovered two. He also added six knock downs.

Divisional All-Stars were chosen by Football Reporters of Canada (FRC) members as well as CFL head coaches.
