Thank you Benny!
The Alouettes family is saddened to learn of the passing of Benny Oleszczuk, who was known as “Benny Alphabet”.
Benny was an important figure in the local football scene since the 1960s.
On top of being involved in amateur football in the province, he also helped organize every Grey Cup game played in Montreal. He played a key role within the Alouettes alumni association, and he helped build the team’s archives.
He loved the organization so much that he continued volunteering at home games after announcing his retirement. He was always present on the sidelines during games in Montreal for several years.
The entire organization recognizes the valuable contributions he made to the Montreal Alouettes over the years.
We extend our condolences to all his loved ones.
