Partnership with the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ

Montreal, April 4, 2023 – The Montreal Alouettes announced today a partnership with the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ.

Starting with the 2023 season, the Alouettes will offer 60 tickets per game to youths in the care of the DYP. The Alouettes Foundation will also donate 50% of the funds raised during two of its 50/50 raffles. The players will also visit young people in rehabilitation centers throughout the greater Montreal area.

The mission of the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ is to change how youths in care see their future by giving them the courage and confidence to believe in a world of possibilities. In addition to its advocacy for youth in need of protection in Quebec, the Foundation mobilizes the population and allocates funds that complement those of the government to respond quickly to specific and personalized needs.

In a desire to increase the impact of its actions and to respond to the crying needs addressed to it, the Foundation has expanded its mission in the fall of 2021 to provide assistance to young people in the care of the DYP, in Montreal and accross Quebec.

“I am extremely proud of this agreement because Alouettes’ players will be visiting youths in rehabilitation centers, and inviting them to home games,” declared Mario Cecchini, interim President of the Montreal Alouettes. “The organization is going to bring a ray of sunshine into the lives of these children. The Alouettes football players will become role models for these future adults, and today marks the beginning of a beautiful story.”

“The Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ, through its mission and commitment, does remarkable work with children and teenagers who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. For the Montreal Alouettes, contributing to the Foundation’s efforts means investing in these young people and their potential. It is also an opportunity for the players, and for our organization to get involved in a tangible way with the hope, and the will, to make a difference,” said Montreal Alouettes Owner Pierre Karl Péladeau.

“We’re pleased and honoured by this partnership,” said Fabienne Audette, Managing Director at the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ. “This collaboration will allow young people to have memorable experiences that will surely help them get through tougher times and feel ‘like other kids’ who attend sporting events with their families. We would like to wholeheartedly thank the Montreal Alouettes organization and their players for their generous involvement.”

“Football is a sport of resilience and teamwork. Win or lose, you’re never alone”, added Nancy Audet, proud supporter of the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ. “Football players are natural allies for youths in the care of the DYP. They play a sport that allows them to push their limits and to accomplish what sometimes may seem impossible. This partnership is what dreams are made of, but also one that will inspire our youths.”
