Alouettes pick up a first-round pick from B.C. Lions

Montreal, August 31, 2022 – The Montreal Alouettes announced Wednesday that the club acquired the BC Lions first-round pick in the 2023 CFL Draft in exchange for quarterback Vernon Adams Jr.

The 29-year-old spent five seasons with the Alouettes and played 56 games with the team. In five games this year he threw one touchdown pass, completed 21 of his 39 attempts and gained 294 yards.

“Vernon came to see me in the last few weeks because he wanted to play. I kept him informed of the situation by promising to do everything to accommodate him,” says Danny Maciocia, General Manager of the Montreal Alouettes. “Vernon is pleased with the outcome and we thank him for his work over the past few years. We wish him all the best for the future.”
