Alouettes add two more local players

Montreal, February 26, 2021 –  The Montreal Alouettes announced on Friday that the club has signed deals with Quebecers Benoit Marion and Brian Harelimana. Both played collegiately for the Université de Montréal Carabins and were selected by the Alouettes in the 2020 CFL Draft.

Marion (6’5″, 250 lbs) was selected in the third round (25th overall) following the 2019 season where he finished second in the province with six sacks, on top of making 19.5 tackles. In 2018, the former Collège André-Grasset Phénix was elected a RSÉQ second team all-star, after registering 20 tackles and four quarterback sacks.

Harelimana (6’2″, 228 lbs) was also an important cog in the Carabins’ defensive squad during the last seasons, as he was voted a RSEQ first-team all-star from 2017 to 2019, as well as a first team All-Canadian in 2018 and a second team All-Canadian the following year. The 25-year-old Laval, QC native ranked second on the team with 37 tackles in 2019. He also registered three sacks and eight knockdowns. The former Vanier Cégep Cheetah intercepted one pass and made five tackles in the 2019 Vanier Cup game.
