We support all the athletes taking a stand against racism

Since the tragic death of George Floyd, the protest movement against racism and police brutality has considerably developed and has sparked a worldwide reckoning. The world of sports, and the Alouettes, of course, have joined the fight and shown their support to the movement to bring about the changes needed. Change doesn’t happen overnight: meaningful change takes time and dedicated effort. The events that took place on Sunday showed us once more that the road to change will be long and hard, but we must remain united and determined in our actions for social injustice to end.

We salute the players from the different leagues in North America who refused yesterday to take the floor and play their sport, and we support them wholeheartedly. It’s through actions like these that we will get real change to take place.

For the past few weeks, the Alouettes have been working on a plan to help all the actors involved in this battle eradicate all form of social injustice once and for all. This plan will be unveiled very shortly!

Racism, social injustice, and police brutality should never have happened in the first place, and we will do everything in our power to put an end to it. We take a stand against racism. We are committed to driving change towards dismantling racism by taking action as an organization. We will listen and learn. We will make our voices heard. We will be part of the change we wish to see. #EndRacism
