A step towards a possible 2020 season

Dear fans,

The Canadian Football League announced yesterday that the city of Winnipeg has been chosen to host a possible 2020 season in the form of a hub city without spectators. We’re one step closer to seeing our Alouettes back on the field this season!

Although it’s a step in the right direction, this also validates what we’ve all been expecting for a moment now:  no Alouettes games will take place in Montreal in 2020 so we will not be able to welcome you in our stadium this year to relive some incredible moments as we did in 2019. We do however remain hopeful that we will still have the opportunity to see our protégés on the field in Winnipeg for a shortened season on TSN or TSN 690.

For this to happen, some conditions have to be met and a few more details have to be worked out but know that the league is working tirelessly with the government and the players’ association for a decision to be made in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, I invite you to continue following the latest news on your team and on the team via our social media platforms and website. We are living in exceptional times and all being deprived of many of our summer enjoyments, including football, but the most important in all this in the health and safety of our players, of our personnel and our fans, of course.

I thank you once again for your patience and comprehension and hope from the bottom of my heart that we will be able to see our Alouettes on the field very soon, even from a distance…

See you soon
