Montreal, May 21, 2020 – The Montreal Alouettes would like to wish best of success to Marcel Bellefeuille, who was nominated as Head Coach of the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees football team on Thursday.
Bellefeuille had joined the Alouettes as the team’s Offensive Line Coach this past December and was set for a second stint with the club.
“I want to wish Marcel the best of success with the Gee-Gees. He couldn’t pass up this opportunity to become the Head Coach of this program, in his home town on top of it,” declared Alouettes Head Coach Khari Jones. “For having worked with Marcel in the past and this winter, I have no doubt in my mind that the University of Ottawa made a great selection.”
“I want to thank the Alouettes for allowing me to accept this job in the city I grew up in and where my family currently resides,” said Bellefeuille. “In the months that I spent with the Alouettes, I was able to assess that this organization in very good hands and I know that they are bound to have success in the future.”
Because of the current confinement situation, the Alouettes have not set a timetable to replace Bellefeuille.
