Jacques Ménard’s passing

The Alouettes would like to offer their most sincere condolences to Jacques Ménard’s family and friends. Having served as the President of our Board of Directors, Jacques played a crucial role in the rebirth of the Montreal Alouettes in 1996 and supported the organization for two decades.

His career was nothing short of phenomenal. In addition to acting as the President of BMO Financial Group, Québec from 2001 to 2018, he served on the board of many of the country’s most influential companies.

What I will always remember about Jacques, a true gentleman, is his unwavering commitment to the province of Quebec, and particularly its youth,” says Mario Cecchini, Alouettes President. “His presence will be greatly missed in the business world, but also in the community.

In 2008, he published his first book titled “Si on s’y mettait” and created a social action group to support school perseverance and success that produced the report, “Savoir pour pouvoir.” He then continued to work in the same direction, publishing two more books on school perseverance titled “Au-delà des chiffres… une affaire de cœur” and “Réussir : Aller au bout de ses rêves”.

The Alouettes Foundation, whose mission is to promote school perseverance, is honoured and deeply humbled to continue to support a cause that was so dear to Jacques’s heart.

Goodbye, Mr. Ménard,
