October 29 Transactions

The Montreal Alouettes announced the following transactions on Tuesday.

Player added to the practice roster:
Donald Hawkins (A), OT, Texas
Marcellus Pippins (A), CB, Washington State

Player released:
Justin Gibbons (A), DB, Aurora

Hawkins (6’4″, 310 lbs.) saw action with the Dallas Cowboys and the Carolina Panthers. The 27-year-old offensive tackle from Memphis, TN also played in the Alliance of American Football (AAF) in 2019. Hawkins first played college football for the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers. He was named a 2011 National Junior College Athletic Association First-Team All-American. He transferred to play for the Texas Longhorns, where he started 24 of 25 career games.

Pippins (5’10”, 178 lbs.) is returning with the Alouettes after being part of the team in 2018 and 2019. The Richmond, CA native played four years for the Washington State University Cougars. In 42 games, he made 77 solo tackles, 27 assisted and earned five interceptions with gain of 86 yards. The 24-year-old player collected 19 knockdowns, two forced fumbles and three fumbles recoveries.
