October 22 transactions

The Montreal Alouettes announced the following transactions on Tuesday.

Player added to the practice roster:
Aarion Maxey-Penton (A), DB, Missouri

Maxey-Penton (5’9″, 187 lbs.) was a first-team All-SEC selection in 2016 with the Missouri University Tigers. The defensive back made 43 tackles on the year and led the SEC with 17 passes defended (five interceptions, one for a touchdown, and 12 pass breakups). The 25-years-old won Missouri’s award for the team’s top cornerback in 2015 by registering 59 stops, 4.5 for loss, an interception and eight pass breakups. The St. Louis, MO native was a full-time starter as a sophomore as he made 36 tackles, two for losses and three interceptions. As a true freshman, he registered 16 tackles, one interception, two knockdowns. He had a stint in the NFL with the L.A. Rams.

The team also announced that it has released defensive back Jermaine Ponder as well as quarterback David Pindell.
