Alouettes add CFL alum Robert Gordon to coaching staff

The Montreal Alouettes announced on Wednesday that the club has appointed former CFL player Robert Gordon as the club’s Receivers Coach.

Gordon played 13 seasons in the CFL, including six with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, where he was named a CFL East All Star in 1999 and 2000, while catching passes from current Alouettes Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator, Khari Jones. Together, they helped the Blue Bombers reach the 2001 Grey Cup game in Montreal. Gordon ranked ninth all-time on the Winnipeg all-time receivers’ list when he retired. He also played with current Running Back Coach André Bolduc with the Edmonton Eskimos in 1997.

Following his playing career in the CFL and Arena Football League, the Detroit, MI native joined the Omaha Mammoths of the Fall Experimental Football League. The 50-year-old was named Head Coach of the Shenyang Black Rhinos of the China Arena Football League, for the 2018 season, which has been postponed.
