Alexandre Laganière becomes colour commentator for Alouettes games on 98,5 FM

The Montreal Alouettes and et Cogeco Media announced that Alexandre Laganière will be the colour commentator for the Alouettes games broadcast on 98,5 FM, in 2019. Laganière will form a duo with one of Quebec’s most seasoned sports reporters, Jean St-Onge, who has been the play-by-play announcer since 2015.

Laganière was an offensive lineman with the Université de Montréal Carabins during his studies in business administration at HEC Montréal. He has fond memories of Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, where he hoisted the Vanier Cup, in 2014. He was selected by the Ottawa REDBLACKS in the 2015 CFL draft and participated in their training camp that same year.

In the last year, he contributed to numerous reports on U Sports Football on television and on the web. Laganière is now at the head of his own company, Les Rassembleurs, which specializes in event planning and video production. His know-how allowed him to produce the video celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec.

“It’s a privilege for me to join two prestigious organizations such as the Alouettes and 98,5 FM,” said Laganière. “It’s an incredible opportunity and a big challenge but, just likes the Alouettes, I’m Toujours Game!”

In December of 2018, the Alouettes and Cogeco Media renewed their partnership for a period of the three years. Therefore, the Alouettes games will be broadcast on 98,5 FM for the 2019, 2020, and 2021 seasons.

The Alouettes start their pre-season calendar on Thursday, May 30, as they visit the Toronto Argonauts at 11 a.m. ET. The Alouettes will kick off their home season on Thursday, July 4, at 7:30 p.m., against their division rival Hamilton Tiger-Cats, at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. Tickets are already available.

For the 2019 season, 98,5 fm will start its broadcast with the Alouettes home pre-season game on June 6 against the Ottawa REDBLACKS.
