Alouettes sign three-time All-Star Taylor Loffler

The Montreal Alouettes announced on Wednesday that the club has signed three-time all-star national defensive back Taylor Loffler. The 26-year-old, Kelowna, BC native was selected to the CFL All-Star Team three times in his first three seasons. He became in last November the ninth player in CFL history and only the second Canadian to achieve such a feat .

Loffler (6’3 “, 221 lbs.) was a third-round pick (19th overall) in the 2016 CFL Canadian Draft by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers after playing with the UBC Thunderbirds. In 2018, he played 16 games with Winnipeg earning 52 defensive tackles, two knockdowns, one fumble return for ten yards and three interceptions he returned for a total of 57 yards. In 50 career-games with Winnipeg, he amassed 185 defensive tackles, 12 on special teams, eight knockdowns, seven fumble recoveries, one sack and eight interceptions totalling 166 yards.

“We acquired one of the most sought after defensive players in free agency,” said Alouettes General Manager Kavis Reed. “We improved our defence a great deal with this acquisition. What Taylor has done by being selected a CFL All-Star in first three CFL seasons is quite phenomenal. He represents a great signing for our organization.”
