The Montreal Alouettes announced on Wednesday that the club has acquired the Ottawa REDBLACKS second round pick in the 2019 draft in exchange for national linebacker Chris Ackie.
Ackie (6’2″, 205 lbs.) was currently in his fourth season with Montreal and is in the final year of his contract. In 54 games, the 26-year-old amassed 109 defensive tackles, adding 22 on special teams.
“We would like to thank Chris for his dedication towards the Montreal Alouettes. He worked real hard to return to the field this season. We wish him all the best in Ottawa,” said Alouettes General Manager Kavis Reed.
