The Montreal Alouettes team up with Purolator for the annual Tackle Hunger event

On Sunday, September 30, the Montreal Alouettes will team up with Purolator for the 16th edition of the Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. On that day, the Saskatchewan Roughriders will be in town and the game is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. Fans are invited to bring non-perishable food items, credit card or cash donations at each entrance of the stadium to help families in need.Starting at 10:30 a.m., Alouettes cheerleaders, Moisson Montréal and Purolator volunteers will be collecting donations that can be left in bins that will be located at each entrance of the stadium.
Donors will also have the chance to get their picture taken with the Grey Cup at the Purolator kiosk, located at the East entrance of the stadium.“When the team asked me to participate in this event, it was an easy decision for me,” said Alouettes linebacker Henoc Muamba. “I want to be a leader in our locker room and make sure our players are doing their part to help this great cause. I am fortunate enough to be able to put food on my table every day, but I know it’s not the case for everyone. We can’t be confronted to issues like hunger and not take action.”

All proceeds from the event will support Moisson Montréal, which distributes food to more than 241 community organizations on the Island of Montreal, representing 137,000 people, including 41,500 children.

In last year’s food drive, Alouettes fans helped raise over 38,445 pounds of food for Moisson Montréal.

The Montreal Alouettes will face the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1:00 p.m. The game will be presented on TSN, ESPN2 as well as on TSN 690. Fans can buy tickets for this game.
