5 Great Reasons to Attend the September 30 Game

This Sunday (yes, SUNDAY) at 1 pm, the Alouettes will face the Saskatchewan Roughriders at McGill Stadium. As always, we thought of you and put together a list of awesome arguments to help you convince your friends (or family) to attend the game.

1. Again, We’re Playing on SUNDAY

For the first time of the season, we’re playing on the weekend! No traffic, no routine, no excuses. Sleep in and get goin’! Come meet us at the tailgate where you can grill your brunch sausages. It’s the perfect outing for the whole family!

If you actually do plan on bringing the munchkins, make sure you check out our special Family pack that includes 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 soft drinks or water bottles starting at only $33 per person.

2. It’s the So-so-so Solidarity Game

During the electoral campaign, we tend to think a little more about the causes and issues that matter the most to us. This Sunday, the Alouettes are giving you the opportunity to lend a hand to those in need by bringing non-perishable food items or donating via cash or credit card at the stadium as part of the Purolator Tackle Hunger initiative. Join Purolator and Moisson Montréal to help tackle hunger.

Every little bit helps. Your small gesture can make a BIG difference in many people’s lives. For real. Show up with your hands full and we’ll welcome you with open arms.

3. The Odds Are on Our Side

The team is not having a dream season, but it has delivered good performances in the last few weeks. When the game is tight up until the fourth quarter, it’s fun, regardless of the outcome.

Obviously, it’s even more fun when we win. If the trend continues, it should happen. Mike Sherman’s squad beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders at home in 2017, then at Mosaic Stadium earlier this year. Whether Antonio Pipkin or Johnny Manziel starts under centre, the team should put on a great show.

Here’s a secret that’s not really a secret: You should get to see our famous number 2 in action.

4. You’re Going to Rock’n roll all Afternoon

Band on Tour, a rock band that has been lighting up the stage at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal since mid-September, will have you singing out loud at half-time as they perform your favourite classics. The Eagles, Queen, Bon Jovi, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin… the five singers and six musicians have one heck of a repertoire.

You don’t know any of it? You’re more the Post Malone, Mac Miller (RIP) or Chance the Rapper type? It’s cool. Did you know your dearest artists all loooove making covers of old rock songs? If it’s good enough for them, it should be good enough for you.

ROCK ON, YO.

5. There will be airplanes.

Royal Canadian Air Force CT-155 Hawk aircraft to be precise. They’re powerful, they’re extremely loud and they will make the kids go crazy! The jets will fly over the stadium twice, once right after the national anthem, then at kickoff.

Warning: You will jump straight out of your seat. But don’t worry! We would never compromise your security. We love you wayyyy too much.
