The Alouettes wish the best of luck to Anthony Calvillo

The Montreal Alouettes wish only the best to their former quarterback and coach Anthony Calvillo, who has accepted a position as quarterbacks coach with the Toronto Argonauts.

Upon retiring as a player after an illustrious career of 20 seasons in the CFL, including 16 with the Alouettes, Calvillo joined the team’s coaching staff in 2015 and served as receivers coach, quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator over the course of three seasons.

After the 2017 season, the former number 13 informed the organization that he planned on taking a year off from coaching. In January, the Alouettes hired Khari Jones as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

As one of the greatest players to ever wear our franchise’s jersey, Anthony will always be part of the Alouettes’ family“, said Patrick Boivin, President and CEO. “I want to thank Anthony for his commitment and dedication to our team as a player and as a coach during the last three decades. The door will always be open for him to come back to the Alouettes‘ nest.
