5 great reasons to attend the October 9 game

After having spent the past two weeks playing in enemy territory, our Alouettes return to Percival Molson Memorial Stadium to take on the Edmonton Eskimos on Monday, October 9. The day starts at noon at the base of the mountain for a tailgate brunch followed by the second-to-last regular season home game for the Als.

As always, there’ll be plenty of action! Here are five things that you’re not going to want to miss.

1-Thanksgiving turkey

At Thanksgiving, football is a must! Instead of being glued to your screen, come and celebrate with us and your entire family! Don’t want to miss out on grandma’s turkey? We understand completely and we have taken the necessary steps:

  • Les Éleveurs de volailles du Québec will be serving king-sized turkey drumsticks at the tailgate.
  • The Thanksgiving Pack, available online or at the stadium’s ticket office on gameday, consists of four game tickets, four turkey drumsticks and four drinks starting from only $33 per person.

You can pick up leftovers at grandma’s the day after, or better still, bring her to the game with you!

2-The TELUS super promotion (it’s a free meal – we’re not kidding!)

It’s Thanksgiving and it’s ALSO the TELUS Game. To celebrate, our proud partner will be giving thundersticks to 15,000 fans, the perfect accessory to MAKE SOME NOISE. Plus, if you are a TELUS client, you could receive up to $25 worth of 🌭 🍺 delivered to your seat. To take advantage of this promotion, simply locate a TELUS agent at one of the entrances to the stadium; it will be their pleasure to help you get signed-up!

3-Happy hour (because it’s never too early to… !)

And what if you’re not a TELUS subscriber, but you’d still like to enjoy the full Alouettes experience? After devouring your turkey drumsticks at the tailgate, come have a drink in the area behind the West end zone. Two excellent cold beers for only $15! Ladies, some free advice: drink slowly while watching the guys warm up on the field 😉

4-New talent

O.K., enough talk about food and drinks! If you watched last week’s game against Calgary, you definitely noticed that the Alouettes’ brain trust made some line-up changes. New players will be constantly put to the test between now and the end of the season… are Kavis Reed and his coaching staff testing the waters in anticipation of next year? Check out, among others, T.J. Graham, who wants to prove that he deserves a spot in the Canadian Football League, and offensive lineman Xavier Fulton, who has a strong background.

5-The future will be on display

Over and above the primary battle pitting our Als against Jason Maas’ men, four amateur football games will be played, simultaneously, at halftime. Cheer on these young players from the Richelieu Pirates, the La Prairie Diablos, the Saint-Hubert Rebels and the Greenfield Park Packers who will be ecstatic to hit the same field as the pros! And who knows? The lil neighbour, your niece or your nephew might be playing! We’re promising that you’ll be entertained, from start to finish!

Let’s go! All that’s left for you to do is buy your tickets!
