The Alouettes add four to practice roster

The Montreal Alouettes announced on Wednesday that the club added linebacker Reggie Northrup, defensive tackle Justin Zimmer, defensive back Tyler Williams as well as offensive lineman Anthony Morris to the practice roster.
 
Northrup, (6’1″, 231 lbs.) played four years at Florida State University where he registered 281 tackles in 49 games. The 23-year-old led the Seminole in tackles during his junior and senior years. Following his collegiate career, the Jacksonville, FL native signed with the Washington Redskins before becoming a member of the Los Angeles Rams.

Zimmer (6’3″, 292 lbs.) put up impressive numbers during his time with the Ferris State University Bulldogs, amassing 216 tackles, including 38 for losses and 26 quarterback sacks, while forcing nine fumbles in four seasons. The Greenville, MI native was a two-time NCAA II All-American, while receiving numerous other accolades during his time with the Bulldogs. The 23-year-old signed with the Buffalo Bills in the NFL in April 2016 before he was claimed by the New Orleans Saints.

Williams (6’1″, 194 lbs.) played his final two collegiate seasons for the Central Arkansas University Bears. During his senior season, the Norcross, GA native amassed 31 tackles, while pilfering four passes, including one he returned for a touchdown. The 23-year-old also forced a fumble and returned one for a touchdown. He attended the Atlanta Falcons rookie mini-camp this past spring.

Morris (6’7″, 300 lbs.) played four years for the Tennessee State University Tigers before being drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL draft. During his senior season, the Memphis, TN native was part of an offensive line that allowed only 1.17 sacks per game. The 25-year-old then signed with the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL in March 2017 before joining the Alouettes.
