Purolator annual Blitz Tackle Hunger event

On Sunday, September 17, the Montreal Alouettes will team up with Purolator for the 15th edition of the Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. On that day, the Ottawa REDBLACKS will be in town and the game is scheduled at 1:00 p.m.

Alouettes players’ wives will help Purolator and Moisson Montréal volunteers to collect non-perishable food items and cash donations at each entrance of the stadium.

The event will start at 10:30 a.m. in the tailgate section and doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Donors will also get the chance to have their photo taken with the Grey Cup at the Purolator booth at the East entrance. Furthermore, all donors will be entered in a draw for the chance to win an autographed jersey of AlouettesSamuel Giguère, who is also the spokesperson for the Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive.

“Not every family has the chance to eat every day,” said Samuel Giguère. “When Purolator approached me, I immediately accepted because I am sensitive to these situations. If our efforts can make a difference, we are achieving our goal.”

All proceeds from the event will support Moisson Montréal, which distributes food to more than 254 community organizations on the Island of Montreal, representing 137,000 people and 45,000 children.

In last year’s food drive, Montreal Alouettes fans helped raise over 23,049 pounds for Moisson Montréal.

The Montreal Alouettes will face the Ottawa REDBLACKS at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 1:00 p.m. The game will be presented on TSN, as well as on TSN 690. Fans can buy tickets for this game here.
