5 great reasons to come out to the July 14 game

5 great reasons to come out to the July 14 game

During practice this week, the two buzzwords have been “discipline” and “finishing.” Your Alouettes have been working non-stop to fine-tune their playbook in anticipation of Friday’s game against the Calgary Stampeders. The CFL’s best offence going up against our tough defence, it’s shaping up to be a real battle. When playing in Montreal, the Stampeders have been somewhat underwhelming of late… especially if we take a look at the results from the past few seasons. Yup, at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium the Alouettes have beaten the Stamps the past three years.

Will the trend continue? Come see for yourself this Friday night at the stadium. Here are several great reasons to come to the game!

My 13th Man is better than yours!

We feel very fortunate to have such loyal, and loud, fans. All the opposing teams know it: in Montreal, the fans in the stands are as terrorising as our players on the field. That’s why every year the Alouettes organization thanks its fans at the Fan Appreciation Game. Here’s what’s in store: there’ll be surprises for the little ones, and a host of great prizes for those who are a little older – like a trip down south, two spots on the Fan Trip, many gifts complements of our loyal partners, and a super promotion at the Red Zone boutiques. Getting rewarded for having fun, what could be better?

The terrific trio

Calgary might have the best offence in the league, but we think our defence is ready to stand up to it. Second in the CFL for points allowed, just behind the Lions, Noel Thorpe’s defence has surrended very little so far. The linebacking trio of Chip Cox, Kyries Hébert and Dominique Tovell have 51 defensive tackles after only 3 games. They’ll be especially motivated to put a stop to the Stampeders’ offensive exploits. Ladies, the talent these guys display on the field should be enough to convince you, but this photo could also provide some incentive…

It’s Fridaaaaaay! For the first time this season we’ll be kicking off the weekend at the stadium and we have a special offer just for you. The ”Friend’s 4-Pack” consists of 4 tickets and 4 concession coupons starting from just $33 per person. And don’t forget to arrive early to enjoy 2 refreshing cold beers for $15! The Jazz Festival might be over, but summer has only just begun!

Nik Lewis might set a record (again)

Friday’s sure to be a big night for Nik Lewis. Not only will he be squaring-off against the team he played 10 seasons with, he could surpass the sensational Ben Cahoon in terms of career receiving yards. If he’s true to form and the play calling permits it, Nik will no doubt find a way to amass the 21 yards he needs to make it to 6th all-time in the CFL. Even though a tailgate still uses his name in Calgary, Nik’s with US now. IIIIIHHHAAAA!

It’s July 14!

A special shout-out to our beloved Frenchies! Yes, those of you who live close to Percival Molson Memorial Stadium and enjoy relaxing on the mountain. Come celebrate your national holiday with us! We’ll introduce you to another (and better!) version of football! Boris Bédé – – a big fan favourite and our kicker / punter – – is originally from Toulon, and would be delighted to hear you cheer him on. You’ll be able to show your patriotism while watching him at work. We’ve even prepared a special menu inspired by your delicious culinary delights, including foie gras and filet mignon with brie fondant. Vive la France! Vive les Alouettes!

A football game under the stars, what a great way to start the weekend.
