“I’m really looking forward to playing aggressively on a natural grass field” – John Bowman

With three games in the next 12 days, the Alouettes are already at work preparing for the game against Toronto on Monday night. MontrealAlouettes.com talked with John Bowman who had 3 quarterback sacks and 11 tackles in the first 3 games.

When John Bowman talked about last Friday’s game, he was firm: “We had too many penalties, which gave our offence poor field position and therefore hurt their ability to put points on the board.

According to the veteran, the Alouettes’ defensive line is without a doubt one of the best in the league. “The defensive line is excellent! We have a good mix of young players as well as veterans who have a lot of experience. Also, our line has Alan-Michael Cash, who is the most underrated player in the league. I am fortunate to be able to play with him!” said Bowman, who has recorded 105 quarterback sacks throughout his career with the Alouettes.

John Bowman says that the Argonauts’ offence, has some excellent players and it can be very dangerous. “The Argonauts’ offence has been experiencing the same problems that we have been facing recently. That being said, we know they have a great quarterback who is capable of doing big things. They also have terrific receivers and a running back who is one of the best in the league. They are capable of making big plays but they haven’t had the chance to do so. And we don’t want them to be able to against us,” said the Alouettes’ defensive end.

The Alouettes will be playing at BMO Field for the first time. “We know it’s a natural grass playing field, and we’re hoping it will be nice weather so that the field will not be slippery and muddy if it rains. I’m really looking forward to playing aggressively on a natural grass field,” said Bowman.

The Alouettes’ next game will be on Monday, July 25 against the Argonauts at BMO Field in Toronto. The game will air on TSN and be broadcasted on TSN 690 at 7:30 p.m.
