The Alouettes at McGill for another 20 years!

Montreal, Sept. 28, 2009 – The Montreal Alouettes are pleased to announce today the signing of a 20-year lease with McGill University, keeping the team at the soon-to-be expanded Percival Molson Stadium downtown on Mount Royal for many years to come.

“This is a major step forward for the franchise and the future of professional football in Montreal,” said Alouettes’ President and CEO, Larry Smith. “We are very pleased to renew our partnership with McGill University.”

The stadium expansion project, which will increase capacity to 25,000 seats, will be completed for the beginning of the 2010 campaign. There will be no price increases for next season and fans may sign up on the 2010 season tickets waiting list as of now.

The Alouettes have an impressive 77-24-0 record since returning to Percival Molson Stadium in 1998. The team also played there from 1947-1967 and for a short period in the 1970s.

The Als will next play the Argonauts at Toronto’s Rogers Centre this Saturday, Oct. 3, at 1 p.m. (RDSHD, TSNHD, CKAC SPORTS, CJAD 800 AM, 98,5 FM).
