2016 – Patrick Boivin has been appointed President and CEO of the Montreal Alouettes, and will lead the organization’s management as well as the team’s and the business’ development.

Throughout his career, Patrick Boivin has acquired extensive experience in the world of professional and university sports. Until recently, he was director of Recreation and Athletics at Concordia University, where he initiated a series of important and innovative changes that made the Stingers’ sports teams more modern and competitive, like the university they represent. In this capacity, he was involved in the strategic development of the Recreation and Athletics Department, including all intramural and interuniversity sports programs, and contributed to the improvement of the university’s facilities overall.

Prior to that, he spent nearly ten years with the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club, including a stint in NHL management from 2008 to 2010. He worked for three years as director of hockey operations for the Canadiens, after being appointed in July 2010. In this position, he assisted the general manager with hockey club operations, budget and salary cap management, contract negotiations and liaised with the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate club in Hamilton.

From 2008 to 2010, he was manager of corporate marketing at NHL Enterprises, where he was responsible for the management and development of major accounts, as well as the implementation of a new wireless digital media platform.

From 2002 to 2008, he held several positions within the Montreal Canadiens’ organization. From 2006 to 2008, he was group manager, marketing and was instrumental in the design and development of the Montreal Canadiens’ Centennial sponsorship program.

In addition to his professional achievements, Patrick Boivin works with several charitable and sports organizations. He is a member of the board of directors of Special Olympics Québec and is the co-founder of the motionball Montreal Sports Marathon, an organization that supports Special Olympics Québec athletes by organizing youth activities. The Sports Marathon has raised more than $200,000 for SOQ athletes over the past five years. M. Boivin has also participated in several editions of the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie.

For the past six years, Boivin has lent his support to CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation, including the Foundation’s Winter Triathlon, an event that collects hundreds of thousands of dollars annually for children, parents and CHU Sainte-Justine professionals.

Patrick Boivin holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Trade from HEC Montréal and studied at Aarhus University in Denmark.
