The Montreal Alouettes Cheerleaders
The Montreal Alouettes Cheerleaders

The Montreal Alouettes cheerleading team was formed in 1996. The 32 women on the team, ranging in age from 18-29, are carefully chosen from a group of 150 hopeful candidates. They are selected based on their talent, experience, rhythm, and personalities.
The Montreal Alouettes cheerleaders manage their time between school or work, practices, games, promotional activities and their families. Their careers vary from biomedical engineering advisor, actuary, and graphic designer to dance teacher, educator specializing in behavioural problems, psychology student and full-time mom!
Directed by Annie Larouche, the cheerleaders practice twice a week at night, from the beginning of March through the end of December. They take part in every home game, during which they perform about 10 numbers as well as half-time shows for some of home games. The cheerleaders make over 200 appearances a year for both promotional and charitable purposes. Their involvement in the community consists of visiting schools, hospitals, and amateur sports teams, as well as participating in numerous fundraising activities, conferences, commercial events and festivals.
The cheerleaders are proud to represent their team and their city, and to be a part of the Montreal Alouettes, 2009 Grey Cup Champions!
