WOODRUFF JOINS THE ALOUETTES

April 17, 2009

Montreal, Apr. 17, 2009 – Montreal Alouettes’ Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp announced today that non-import guard Andrew Woodruff has signed a three-year contract plus an option and will be at training camp this June.

Woodruff (6’3’’, 320 lbs) was drafted by the Alouettes in the second round, 12th overall, of the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft. He started 13 games at guard and tackle and was named First Team All-WAC in 2008 after helping the Boise State Broncos remain undefeated in 13 games with the offence leading their conference for highest points-per-game average. He started 11 games in 2007 and 12 games in 2006 before winning the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma that season. He is 23.

The Alouettes’ training camp will begin this June 7 at the Campus du Fort St-Jean in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
