St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, June 9, 2008 – The following is the daily report from the Alouettes’ training camp for Day 9.
Thurmon everywhere
Veteran receiver Elijah Thurmon was all over the field this morning catching seven passes including one on a well-calculated diving play.
Spectacular catches
There were several spectacular catches during this morning’s workout, with S.J. Green and Andrew Hamilton both making exciting grabs in the air.
Armstead one-handed
Newcomer Jason Armstead may turn out to be quite an acquisition for the Alouettes. He has impressed since coming to camp and, this morning again, made a tough one-handed catch look easy.
Drew intense
Defensive back Randee Drew made a couple of nice defensive plays, including knocking down a pair of passes. “Randee Drew does it every day and guys are following along,” said head coach Marc Trestman, pleased with the work of his defensive unit.
Calvillo absent
Quarterback Anthony Calvillo missed the morning practice, as he accompanied his wife Alexia to a routine exam. Quarterbacks Marcus Brady, Brad Banks and Adrian McPherson took advantages, taking more snaps than usual.
More rain
After two beautiful days, the Alouettes were back indoors at the Stade Haut-Richelieu today due to rain.
