St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, June 7, 2008 – The following is the daily report from the Alouettes’ training camp for Day 7.

Finally, a nice day!

The Alouettes held their first complete day outside at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean today. The players did not seem too bothered by the high levels of heat and humidity.

Second practice in pads

The team held a long second practice in pads in the afternoon, lasting over two hours.

Trestman impressive

Head coach Marc Trestman has shown an exciting and vivacious approach, often seen jogging alongside the players running routes and coaching them in their drills.

Richardson goes long

Veteran receiver Jamel Richardson showcased his skills, catchin a long bomb early in practice.

Addition

The Alouettes added Jimmy Sutton (NC State) to the roster.

Subtraction

Free safety Tony Lezotte was released.

CFL on site

The CFL was well represented today. Not only did Jacques Décarie bring a team of officials for practice, but LCF.ca and CFL.ca had film crews in action.

A nice visit

Singer Annie Villeneuve was at training camp for the Alouettes’ practice. The former Star Académie singer coached Matthieu Proulx, Andrew Hamilton, Éric Deslauriers and Étienne Boulay for their singing performance at Radio-Canada show “l’Heure de gloire” this winter.

Tomorrow’s schedule

The Alouettes will hold two split practices tomorrow. The first one will be at 8:20 a.m. and the second one will be at 2:30 p.m. The location will be confirmed in the early morning.
