St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, June 5, 2008 – The following is the daily report for the Alouettes’ training camp for Day 5.

Woldu on fire

Cornerback Paul Woldu made two picks today

Payton

Running back Jarrett Payton was impressive today both carrying the ball and on short passing plays.

Taylor outstanding

Larry Taylor continues to impress with his speed and changes of direction.

Armstead

Receiver Jason Armstead joined his new teammates today.

Four newcomers

Four new players joined the team today: Free safety Tony Lezotte, defensive back Chris Smith, offensive lineman Robbie Powell and veteran linebacker Corey Jenkins.

Three gone

Three players have been released including veteran returners Ashlan Davis and Tony Tompkins and rookie defensive back Riley Swanson.

Tomorrow’s schedule

The team will hold split practice sessions tomorrow starting at 10 a.m. at the Stade Haut-Richelieu. The second practice is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. outside at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean. Please note that media availability will take place after the first practice only.
