St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, June 17, 2008 – The following is the daily report from the Alouettes’ training camp for Day 17.

 

Practice

The Alouettes practiced at 9 a.m. today, with the offence and defence splitting up at first before coming together to work on game situations later on in the workout.

 

Addition

The Alouettes added running back Kevin Richardson (Appalachian State).

 

Subtractions

Six players were taken off the roster today: Defensive end Rodney Hardeway left camp, while guard Luc Brodeur-Jourdain, linebacker Karibi Dede, centre Sean Brown, guard Daryl Conrad and tackle Mike Galassi were released. Brodeur-Jourdain will return to Université Laval to complete his eligibility there.

 

An pick for Ferri

Linebacker Diamond Ferri had an interception in today’s practice.

 

Bratton & Desriveaux continue to impress

Receivers Brian Bratton and Danny Desriveaux continued their excellent camps, both making some nice catches today.

 

Calvillo

Quarterback Anthony Calvillo will see game action for the first time since last October on Thursday night in Winnipeg. "He will play long enough to get his feet wet,” said head coach Marc Trestman.

 

According to Coach Trestman

On the unique CFL situation in which a player may kick the ball out of the end zone: “I wanted to call a player-coach meeting to see what was going on!” he said jokingly.

 

Schedule for the next few days

The team will leave for Winnipeg tomorrow at 2 p.m. and will work out at 4:30 p.m. at Canad Inns Stadium. The Alouettes will then play the Blue Bombers on Thursday night at 8 p.m. (CJAD 800).
