St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, June 16, 2008 – The following is the daily report from the Alouettes’ training camp for Day 16.

Practices

The Alouettes held two practices today. The first practice was from 10 to 11 a.m., with players practicing positioning. In the afternoon, the team worked out from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Proulx moves back to safety

Matthieu Proulx is back at free safety, where he played last year after starting camp as a linebacker. “Matthieu was really flexible in our system. He was great at every position he played throughout camp. We really want to see what he can bring to this team,” said coach Marc Trestman. “He will start at free safety on Thursday night in Winnipeg.”

Bratton and Deslauriers looking sharp

Receivers Brian Bratton and Éric Deslauriers each made a pair of beautiful catches in the afternoon practice at Stade Haut-Richelieu.

Quarterback situation

Trestman said that Anthony Calvillo will play in Winnipeg on Thursday night. Marcus Brady, who missed last week’s exhibition game after suffering back spasms during the pre-game warmup, practiced this week. “Marcus will play this Thursday,” Trestman said.

Addition

The Alouettes added running back Chris Jennings (Arizona) to the roster.

Tomorrow’s schedule

Practice is scheduled at 9 a.m. with media availability to follow shortly after practice. The location will be confirmed according to the weather.
